Seven up for Felsted School
Despite Felsted School being in existence for over four hundred years they maintain an appetite for the latest technology at the best value for money. This applies to the showering facilities they are upgrading for their pupils.
Jayne Kirkby, Contracts Officer at Felsted, discovered leak proof shower cubicles a couple of years ago.
"I recognised that not only were the existing shower cubicles somewhat antiquated, the cost of maintaining them was ever escalating. When I saw the solution offered by Advanced Showers I recommended them to the Housemasters and we subsequently had a unit installed for internal approval".
Not only were Felsted School interested in the shower cubicle in isolation they were attracted to the whole package. They also reviewed the matching pivot door with etched glass to protect pupil modesty - handy that the doors come with a lifetime guarantee given the high usage that they would get. Of most importance was the shower valve - it was critically important that water flow and temperature would remain constant at varying pressures but should anything untoward take place there would never be the potential for the students to be scalded. The guarantee that the valve would cut off in 0.2 of a second if the temperature rose gave confidence to the team reviewing the pods.
As Jayne highlights:-
We are gradually upgrading all of the facilities but are most proud of our most recent installation where we fitted seven showers banked together.
The units fitted in perfectly and we clad the areas around the cubicle in a high gloss finish plastic which complimented the showers perfectly. Obviously with the unique patented sectional design there was no difficulty moving the sections down our quirky corridors and getting them into position for a quick and efficient installation.
Now the students have the luxury of their new showers and we have the luxury of long term usage and no on going maintenance bills.
We are presently installing more showers as this item goes to press and are finding that as we become more and more familiar with the product the installation time is reducing so we are exceeding our targets during the busy holiday period. Having tried the product the school has now adopted the policy that all showers in boarding areas will be converted to the pod design as soon as funding and other projects allow.
